Weldon Farms
Tallahassee, Florida

BUILDING A NEW COMMUNITY FROM THE GROUND UP

Located on the east side of Tallahassee, Weldon Farms is a 100-acre residential development that will ultimately include approximately 290 homesites.

Dowdy was brought into the project early in the development process, giving the team the opportunity to collaborate on design, identify opportunities for value engineering, and help establish an efficient path forward before work began in the field.

That early involvement has allowed Dowdy to play an integral role in bringing the development from plans on paper to a community taking shape.

COMPLETE SITE DEVELOPMENT

Dowdy’s work at Weldon Farms encompasses nearly every aspect of site development.

Dowdy crews have handled clearing and site preparation, moved tens of thousands of yards of dirt, and installed the underground infrastructure that will serve the neighborhood for decades to come.

The scope of work includes:

  • Clearing and site preparation
  • Earthwork and grading
  • Stormwater infrastructure
  • Sanitary sewer
  • Water systems
  • Underground utilities and infrastructure

By managing multiple components of the project, Dowdy is able to coordinate work efficiently while maintaining the quality and consistency required on a development of this scale.

KEEPING A MULTI-PHASE PROJECT MOVING FORWARD

Weldon Farms is being developed across three phases, each with critical milestone dates that must be met so the owner and developer can continue moving forward with home construction.

Keeping those phases on schedule requires careful planning, communication, and coordination between crews in the field and the many partners involved in the development.

For Dowdy, meeting those milestones is about more than completing individual tasks. It means understanding how the company’s work affects every stage that follows and doing its part to keep the entire project moving forward.

WORK DOWDY IS PROUD TO STAND BEHIND

Projects like Weldon Farms are especially rewarding because the work happening underground and throughout the site today will support a community for years to come.

For the Dowdy team, seeing a project come together means seeing the result of countless hours of hard work, coordination, and attention to quality.

It is work Dowdy is proud to stand behind — and work that ultimately brings something much bigger to the Tallahassee community: a place hundreds of families will one day call home.

WHY DOWDY?

From early planning and value engineering to full-scale site development, Dowdy brings the experience and capabilities needed to help complex projects move forward.

At Weldon Farms, that means working alongside the development team from the beginning, meeting critical deadlines, delivering quality infrastructure, and taking pride in every phase of the job.

Done right. Done on time.
